ITeC and WorkVentures are a member of the AIIA Environmental Special Interest Group and we play and active role in the voluntary code currently being developed for E-Waste in Australia.

In June 2005, the AIIA commissioned a special report from Planet Ark. This document acknowledged the need for a facilitated process between industry and government with the ultimate objective of establishing and initiating an industry driven take-back scheme for end-of-life computers, printers and associated hardware products.

ITeC plays a leadership role in the refurbishment of ex-corporate computers through our WorkVentures Computer ReUse Division.

ITeC also looks after e-Waste disposal in an auditable manner. E-Waste is sorted into metals, plastics and glass and is disposed of in the most appropriate manner. Toxic waste is considered and managed to current standard.
