Preventative Maintenance

“How expensive is the downtime of a critical piece of revenue generating equipment such as a shopping lane in a supermarket of a parking meter.”

For years out of favour as an unnecessary cost, ITeC can show you that Preventative Maintenance is a cost effective method of reducing your repair and maintenance costs as well as increasing equipment up time and therefore maximising revenue.

ITeC systematically identifies potential equipment failures and removes the causes and consequences. Either the design is modified or a preventive maintenance procedure is put into place to detect or prevent early signs of an impending failure. Theoretically, all equipment maintenance problems can be prevented on the drawing board! However, in reality, there will always be spontaneous equipment failures. When the right decisions are made upfront and a preventative maintenance programme implemented, you will slash your equipment failures and maintenance costs. In turn this delivers better performance and lower costs during the equipment’s operating life.

Typically, ITeC commences with an audit and assessment of a sample of the equipment to be maintained. In a methodical analysis each component and/or assembly failure is reviewed and the preventative programme developed from the data. Then, as with rollout/installations, a preventative rollout is developed to cover all installations of this type of equipment. This could include developing a training program for our field service agents which is distributed by CD/DVD nationally.

For more complex programme’s field agents will receive classroom training and updates at our Mascot facility.
